From Friday August 1, 2008 all Massage Therapists working in NSW will be required to display a copy of the NSW Code of Conduct for Unregistered Health Professionals in their clinic(s). This new regulation was made as an amendment to the NSW Public Health Act (1991) and applies to all NSW AMT members.
The new Code of Conduct also requires Massage Therapists to display a specific notice giving clients information about the way they can make complaints to the Health Care Complaints Commission.
Copies of the Code of Conduct are available from the NSW Health website here.
Please note that the actual Code of Conduct begins at Schedule 3 on page 3 of this document.
The notice about the Health Care Complaints Commission is available for download here.
It is a requirement of the Code of Conduct that you display this notice in your clinic too.
If you require a hard copy of either of these documents or have any queries, please contact AMT Head Office on 02 9517 9925.
