AMT Board

Keryn Rose (Chairperson)

Keryn RoseI have been a member of AMT since 2002. As a high school student, a remark made about massage therapy being a hobby not a profession drove me to seek out a full-time TAFE course in remedial massage. I never looked back. At my first AMT conference, I asked an interesting question at the AGM (at least that was what I was later told!). This appeared to seal my fate, first as a regional representative for Northern Rivers, then later as an AMT Director, and now as the slightly reluctant Board Chairperson. What do they say about not being able to keep a good woman down?

Derek Zorzit (Vice Chairperson)

Derek ZorzitI have been a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist for 32 years, owning and operating a successful business in Kingston, Canberra. I have been a member of AMT for 28 years and was deeply honoured to receive Life Membership in 2022. I have also presented at multiple AMT conferences. This is my second round of serving on the AMT Board where I have carved out a reputation as the designated extrovert. I take this role extremely seriously. Or not.

Sarah Flenley (Director)

Sarah FlenleyI'm a relative newcomer to the industry, having completed my Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2022. I live in Canbrrrrrra and work full time as a public servant, practising massage on weeknights and weekends. I absolutely love it! There's nothing I enjoy more than providing massages that help my clients release the stresses of daily life. I joined the AMT board in 2025 because I'm passionate about this industry. With 30 years of experience in administration, project management, and stakeholder engagement across the private and public sectors, I'm excited to contribute these skills to support our profession. I like to keep fit and look after my own health and wellbeing. After living in far north Queensland for almost 20 years, I moved to Canberra in 2021 and have adapted well to the cooler climate. In my spare time, I love walking with my dog Albert and spending time in the Australian bush.

Sarah Fogarty (Director)

Sarah FogartyI have been in practice as a remedial massage therapist and acupuncturist for over 24 years, and am currently working in a clinic with a women's health focus. I completed my Master’s degree in 2005 and in 2011 was awarded a PhD from the Department of Health Sciences at Victoria University. I am an adjunct fellow at Western Sydney University, and have published over 40 papers, including papers on pregnancy massage, massage and miscarriage, bereavement massage, and fertility massage. I have presented my research at both national, international and local conferences. I was thrilled to be awarded a Massage Foundation Research Grant in 2022 for my research on pregnancy massage after stillbirth, as the second recipient to be awarded the grant outside the United States. I am also the associate editor for the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Trent Renshaw (Director)

Trent RenshawI've been a member of AMT since 2020, the same year I graduated from Randwick TAFE with a Diploma of Remedial Massage. My path to massage therapy was shaped by a lifelong passion for sport and human performance, having spent years competing as a professional triathlete representing Australia on the world stage. Transitioning from elite sport to manual therapies felt like a natural progression – a way to combine my understanding of endurance, recovery and resilience with evidence-based care for others. I currently practise at Coffs Coast Sports Physiotherapy and operate my own business, The Athlete's Guild, in Coffs Harbour. My focus is on sports, oncology and men's health remedial massage, specialising in complex lymphoedema therapy, pelvic health, and post-cancer rehabilitation. I'm an accredited lymphoedema practitioner with the Australian Lymphology Association and a Foundation Coach with AusTriathlon, and I continue to pursue ongoing education in chronic pain, exercise oncology and pelvic health. Outside of work, you'll still find me in the pool, on the bike or running trails along the Coffs Coast ... once an athlete, always an athlete!

Jenny Richardson (Director)

Jenny RichardsonI started my massage diploma in 2005 and have been passionate about our field ever since. I initially worked in several clinics but have had my own solo practice for over 15 years now. I have also taught several workshops for AMT and in a few other settings. Before my massage incarnation, I worked in a range of fields, including training, administration and small business. I went back to university several years ago, primarily so that I could study anatomy in a cadaver lab. My only regret was that there were only 4 anatomy subjects because I would have loved to do a whole anatomy degree!
