Formal Complaints Policy

AMT members are required to uphold the AMT Code of Ethics and the AMT Code of Practice. The AMT Code of Practice is a comprehensive set of benchmark professional standards for the safe and ethical practice of massage therapy in Australia. You can download the AMT Code of Practice here

Massage Therapists may also be subject to state-based Codes of Conduct such as the Code of Conduct for Unregistered Health Practitioners, which is in force in ACT, NSW, South Australia, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. These state-based Codes and related pieces of health legislation are monitored by the various Health Complaint Entities (HCEs). For a complete list or HCEs, including their contact details, please download AMT's formal complaint policy using the link below.

If you have concerns about the conduct of an AMT member, you should register those concerns with AMT. The AMT Discipline Committee has a responsibility to review the conduct of members and recommend an appropriate course of action to the AMT Board.
